Fresh Widow (1920) was created by Marcel Duchamp as part of his 'readymade' series.
The blue-painted miniature french window has panes of glass covered with black leather. In his obvious word play, Duchamp makes reference to recent widows - of which there were many in the aftermath of WW I.
